Wanna Be a Guest on the Show?

Imagine going out for a few drinks with colleagues after a long day at an academic conference. You’re talking shop, but it’s relaxed and casual. That’s the vibe I aim for on the show.

I have about 4,000 listeners. Almost all of them are IO psychologists/practitioners, IO psych grad students, or people considering IO careers. (Considering there are only about 7,000 SIOP members, that’s a pretty big chunk o’ people.) Since the audience is IO nerds, you won’t have to dumb anything down. Go ahead and talk about mediators, organizational citizenship behavior, and structural equation models. Just don’t sound like you’re presenting at a conference, please-and-thank-you.

I won’t send a list of questions, because I’ve learned that this results in a show that sounds rehearsed. Instead, I want to have a real conversation with you and hear your spontaneous thoughts. I will send you a list of general topics, though. In the meantime, here are two questions you can ask yourself to be a better guest on any podcast:

  1. Why would anyone care about this topic? What makes it important, interesting, or entertaining?
  2. What “war stories” can I tell about this topic? What interesting/funny/difficult events have come up for me?

Still interested? Cool. Fill out the form below and I’ll get back to you soon.
